OOTD: Emilia Take Two

I just LOVE the pissy look on my face :-) I'm cute when I'm mad.
Vest: Thrifted, Dress: Handmade/Me, Doc Martens: Ebay
Handmade/Me - Heart is from the Book Wall
Gift from a Friend.
I wore this out to a girl's night with the ladies from work. I find it amazing that one margarita from this restaurant can get me entirely plastered. On the plus side, unlike last time, I managed not to talk so much (sometimes I say offensive things and most of those times are when I'm wasted). So this is what I for real wore when I went to work and then went out yesterday.

You may remember this dress from a dream outfit post. Well, when I did that post there were a few fit problems with the dress that I have since fixed. I had to fix the mess I made of the neckline and I had to take it in just a smidge because I cut it too large, but after I fixed it I love it! It's definitely an Emilia inspired dress. This dress was cut from a size 14 Lisette Simplicity pattern and I think that the vest says XL. I'm telling you this because I want to add this post to the Nearsighted Owl Proud of My Size Link Up. I think it's really important for people to know that size is just a number, so I like to participate in these types of things.

In other news, how do you like that heart bracelet? I love it! It used to be a watch. I found like, three or four of these empty watches at Philly Aids Thrift so I bought a bunch, and now that I have some of the cool vintage book pages I've been filling them up. Of course, my mister didn't understand what would prompt me to buy empty watches, but then he doesn't see how everything can become an awesome accessory. This eye necklace is a fave of mine. One of my old friends, who also used to wear vests a lot, bought it for me at my first Wicked Faire.

And these docs are just pretty sweet, right? It's been weird- one day it's cool enough for boots, but then the next day it's too hot! I sweated my butt off in these shoes, but it's okay because I look so cool.

So I'm off to South Street to Philly Aids Thrift again with my friend Jill, who I haven't seen in years! I'm so excited!! I hope you guys have an awesome day.

  2. I also popped in from the link up, but I didn't realize I'd find a completely new DIY project in your empty watches. Those are SO great!

I'm Proud of my Size is my favourite link-up! I love seeing ladies of all different sizes look amazing & not give a crap about the number on their clothes.
