Today's post is inspired by all of the things I find romantic.
As you read this post I will be enjoying the new tunes from MCR, and I think, having previewed the leaked ones online, The Light Behind Your Eyes might be one of my new all-time favorites. It's very beautiful.
Which brings me to what I find romantic. When I think of romantic things, I don't think of sexy heels or beachy hair like the magazines seem to tell me I should. I think of soft punky hair colors, curls and long dreads. I think of layered lacy dresses, legwarmers and comfy conversations over coffee. I think of scenes like in Last Train to Clarksville ( song by the Monkees ) or reading books. When I think of romance, I think of comfortable things, because to me, those things are romantic. Soft faded blue jeans with your favorite sweater is romantic. Cute dresses with mocs or flats are romantic. I think of Weetzie Bat, Starr from The Lost Boys and Andie from Pretty in Pink. So here you go- some of my favorite romantic looks from the week.
I love her soft turquoisey mermaid hair. If my hair were just a touch straighter I would very much wear this hair style.
One day I will have two of the things in this picture- long dreads and a nose piercing. This is a fact.
While her hair color is dreamy, I have to say I love her necklace and her hair cut a whole bunch.
I need more hair flowers in my life. I love the bright purple contrasting against the bright red hair, and I really like her sweater.
I told
Megan Mae if I ever cut my hair short again I might go for this cut. Not for a while, though- I'm determined to get it long.
I LOVE these bloomers. They would be super cute under dresses and they can double as pajama bottoms.
I would wear this so much. I love her shoes and necklace, but that dress steals the show.
This jacket is amazing. I want the whole outfit.
This is my favorite pin of the week. I love the overalls dress, the bloomers and lacey shirt underneath, the cropped jacket and that choker. I would rock this look so much. I want everything in this shot. I think I might need to save this for a dream outfit post in the future.
I like how loose this jumper is but it looks so adorable anyway. It would probably be cute with a belt, too.
I'm going to need to thrift a leather jacket and try this painted jacket look. I love moons so much.. Speaking of...
I adore this moon charm necklace.
And this layered pink patchwork dress just has my name on it. I wish I could find patterns for dresses like this so I could make a bunch. They look so comfy and cute. I would wear this with cowboy boots, I think.
There you have it - my Inspiration for the week! What do you think? What is romantic or inspiring to you? until tomorrow!
I love the moon necklace. Like seriously love it. I have a friend who loves moon things and would probably love it even more than me!
ReplyDeleteYou find some of the most dreamy pins. I love the romantic looks, I only wish they suited my style. I do enjoy all the hair posts. Lagenlooks have definitely been inspiring me lately. I can't pull off too much volume, but the ease of the looks has been something I'm reaching for.
ReplyDeletei am really loving mcr's new music. i just spent the afternoon listening to danger days--is it true that they dont really like that album? i heard they were rushing to record new music that was more like their old stuff or something because they didn't like danger days.
ReplyDeletei figured if anyone would know, you would :)
Gorgeous stuff. And I like your interpretation of romance.
ReplyDeleteLoving the soft layers look! You're definitely inspiring me... I hate that I have so many projects. And why am I always making such structured, fitted stuff (which I end up rarely wearing), when I absolutely love the looks you've curated in this post?! (I think I know why I've been eying the linens at Jo-Ann Fabrics lately... thanks for the revelation.)
